T.C. Ellis was featured briefly in Graffiti Bridge as a character who was disappointed by The Kid, played by Prince. He went on to guest rap on several Prince tracks and was featured prominently on "New Power Generation [Part II]." His style was similar to that of other pop rappers who were commercial successes at the time, such as M.C. Hammer.
His debut album featured two Prince penned tracks. The inclusion of "Girl O' My Dreams" was interesting as the track had circulated among collectors for years. Most report the demo version as an upbeat track in the same musical vein as "Jack U Off." T.C.'s version sounded more like a bar room joke with him rapping the lines over a cheesy keyboard upright piano line. "Miss Thang" was not a spectacular number, but did fit the album well.
