Prior to the release of Sheena Easton's greatest hits compilation, "Eternity" was only released on compact disc in Europe. The track is a mid-tempo ballad that suits her voice well. Recorded in late 1985 during Prince's unreleased Dream Factory sessions, "Eternity" was originally conceptualized for Vanessa Williams. Years after Sheena Easton recorded the track, Chaka Khan covered it on her album CK.
