Apollonia 6 - Apollonia 6
Apollonia 6 are one of the most memorable of all the Prince protegé groups. They were given exposure in the movie Purple Rain and on the subsequent tour. Most of Prince's core listeners do not rate the album highly, although it is quite enjoyable in my opinion. Perhaps it is nostalgia for Prince's most acclaimed period in his career. Prince, under the pseudonym Jamie Starr, composed every song on the album. Princestorians often cite that he was writing for a lot of different acts, including himself, at this time and may have spread himself a bit thin.

Collectors know of this album well. It was only released on compact disk in Japan in limited quantity. Some estimate that there are around 250 floating around the world, although this may be low. The cassette and album
