Purple Rain
|
Purple Rain is the album Prince is most identified for. By far his greatest seller, the album and movie catapulted the musician into superstardom. The "Minneapolis sound" became what every musician copied and Prince's influence was heard everywhere. Arguably, the album is his most consistent and definitely his most commercially appealing. He has continued to write better material over the years, but Purple Rain will likely be the most accessible album over the course of his career.
