Around The World In A Day
After the success of Purple Rain, this album caught most listeners off guard. For true Prince listeners it was a pleasant surprise as the psychedelic sound of the effort was so different. The commercial listeners were confused as the only hit song on the album was the classic "Raspberry Beret." Around The World In A Day was really the album that separated the true Prince listeners from those who just wanted to hear a hit song. Although Prince later admitted that the he had rushed the album, it is still an eclectic and unique effort that further developed his sound.
