Title: "Peterborough: Prince Finds Hot Love"
Written By: Sinclair Mckay

As the biting winds of autumn sweep across the land, Mayte Garcia - the wife of the Artist, formerly known as Squiggle and Prince - is on hand to provide us all with a delicious, warming recipe for those long dark evenings. It is for a dish called "Love Soup".

This recipe - details of which follow below - was inspired by some very non- Delia Smith sentiments that Mayte and the former Squiggle appear to share. "We are vegetarian for love reasons," Mayte explains, "for our love of animals. It isn't really much of an effort for us to give up eating meat and fish. As a child, I already liked pasta better than meat. And Prince too.

"I cook at home. I love cooking. And I make this delicious soup, his favourite, which he baptised 'Love Soup'."

So here is the recipe for those who might wish to try it at home. "You make it with all kinds of vegetables, fried tomatoes, garlic and onions," says Mayte.

After that, she adds, "you let it simmer for a while, then you add some rice. And a large pinch of love, of course".

Of course. Elizabeth David would surely have approved.
