PRINCE AT HANG 'EM HIGH: We were trying to hunt down a picture of THE ARTIST, formerly Prince, hanging out at his after-concert party'' at the Sixth Street Hang 'Em High Saloon late Sunday/early Monday, but Shane Widner, owner of the downtown kicker bar, said they're hard to come by.
I saw his bodyguard rip the film out of one person's camera,'' Widner said. He noted that the Artist's people were rigid about many other things at the event, too, but he was nonetheless happy to be playing host to them. The bar got to keep liquor profits from the party, while the singer's people took the $15 cover charge, which was said to be going to the charity fund Love 4 One Another. The former Prince, who was walking around with a gold cane, wearing a loose, white blouse and tight, white pants, didn't do much of anything, except wave from an upstairs balcony a few times. That balcony seemed such an integral part of the scene, it might have been the one feature The Artist demanded that other local clubs didn't have.
Another thing his Royalness seemed to want was a long line wrapped around the outside of the bar. Some of the 1,000 music fans waited an hour to get in. Yet, when they got to the front, they noticed an excessive number of doormen pacing the entry: They'd let four in, stand around for 30 seconds, then let four more in.
