THE ARTIST FORMERLY KNOWN AS PRINCE says he will never stop playing his classic hits - even though he would like nothing more than to do just that. The PURPLE RAIN singer knows what his fans like and he refuses to disappoint them. He says "I can hear a voice inside of me that says play what makes you feel the best. Play the new music. Play where you are now. "My new album EMANCIPATION is three hours long. It has 36 songs on it. That would fill up a show. I would love to do that but I also want to do KISS for the people. " The fans I have that come to the shows are beauty personified and I got to give them what they want." Meanwhile, Artist has also changed his rebellious ways. Before signing to EMI last year he had been locked in a contractual dispute with his old record company WARNERS, and had kept the word "slave" painted on his cheek. Now he admits he was over the top. He says, "After staying in this business so long you start to realize you're doing things for other people. "Now that I'm older I realize you get wrapped up in a lot of things. That's what writing 'slave' on your face is all about. I got wrapped up in the ego of the whole thing." And now he is normal again.
