Title: "Prince Begins Charity Tour For The Kids"
Written By: Gil Kaufman

"Freedom is a Beautiful Thang," says The Artist.

Addicted To Noise staff writer Gil Kaufman reports: That guy we used to call Prince, then TAFKAP, now The Artist and maybe soon What's His Name? hit the road earlier this week for a 14-date mini-tour, for the kids. Not the club kids and androgynes who love to grind their hips to his ambisexual rock, but the underprivileged tots across the country who need his help.

The "Love 4 One Another Charities Tour 1997" began this past Tuesday (Jan. 7) in Philadelphia's Tower Theater and will continue through the end of the month with all proceeds going to "THE ARTIST'S personal charities all over the U.S., celebrating his motto: 'Freedom is a Beautiful Thang,'" according to a press release.

This tour follows a Dec. 28 party at HIS newly-family-friendly Paisley Park complex for hundreds of grade school kids from all over the U.S. who sent their report cards into radio stations for the chance to meet the ENIGMATIC ONE and his wife, MAYTE, in person. This benefit tour will be followed by a full-on EMANCIPATION U.S. tour in April.
