We don't come here to bury Prince, only to keep you up to date on his stylized entrances to eating establishments and clothing boutiques.

Recently, L.A. sources told us shoppers on Melrose Place watched a team of Prince's bodyguards--with walkie-talkies--hustle into the Jon Valdi clothing boutique and asked shoppers to leave so that the musical genius could shop in solitude.

Oddly, Prince was reported to have passed up Jon Valdi's tight-fitting men's clothes in favor of women's suits (he's a size 8, if you're wondering).

Prince recently pulled a similar manuever (but without the threads) at the Bowery Bar, where one of his men dropped in to search the joint before his highness came in.

We don't know what they guy saw or didn't see--but Prince's limo sped off. Maybe he saw Mick Jagger, who never sends in a soldier first, enjoying himeself in a booth.
