Fresh on the heels of his platinum 3 Cd set Emancipation, The Artists is readying the release of yet another CD sure to set tongues a-waggin. THE TRUTH is an all acoustic CD from the man who's done his part to popularize poor spelling and advanced symbology.

To get the hype machine in motion a 2 song CD was mailed out to a highly select group of journalists as an early Valentine's Day gift from The Artist and the missus. The 2 cuts - the title song and "Don't Play Me" are a departure from the brand of funk the The Artist's fans have come to expect. Both songs are stark and in the country-blues vein and feature impassioned vocals from, you guessed it, The Artist.

No set date as to when THE TRUTH will show up in a store near you. But remember, you heard about it here first. Apparently the mailings were so selective that an EMI publicist actually called this reporter to ask if we could play the CD and hold the phone up to the speakers so he could here it, because the ever-generous Artist hadn't given any to the label's staffers."
