Title: "Live From Paisley Park"
Written By: Staff

These days, he prefers the simplified moniker The Artist (shortened, of course, from the cumbersome The Artist Formerly Known as Prince). But whatever name he uses, for nearly 20 years the former Prince Rogers Nelson has been universally acknowledged as one of the most controversial, colorful and important figures in music.

Recently freed from a long-running feud with Warner Bros. over his musical direction--a dispute so bitter he occasionally emblazoned the word Slave on his face--The Artist will release the aptly titled triple-CD Emancipation on November 19 for EMI.

To celebrate, he threw an exclusive party at his plush Paisley Park studio outside Minneapolis--and E! Onliners were invited. There was a screening of the first video from Emancipation, a live performance of new (and old) songs and an impromptu press conference.

We provided continuous live reports from the party as well as sound and video clips. We even fielded your questions, during the bash. Don't worry if you missed the fun while it happened. The whole experience can still be yours. Just throw on your favorite rockin' threads, turn the speakers up loud and experience the first taste of a new purple reign.
