Title: "Prince Was Given Royal Treatment At a AAA Outlet"
Written By: Cheryl Johnson

The question of the day snickered among AAA employees was: Did Prince Rogers Nelson remove his dark glasses for his driver's license photo? 'That's nasty,' said Kayla Golden, supervisor of the driver's license division at the St. Louis Park branch of the national auto association. 'Of course he took off his dark glasses.' Golden also dispelled AAA gossip that Nelson seemed to have a vision problem with his left eye. 'Passed the eye test,' said Golden. 'You know what? He's a very nice young man, actually. He's a very talented person.'

Granted, but he can also be rather unusual. Such as changing his name to a symbol (which he apparently is not trying to get on his license). Such as writing 'Slave' on his cheek because he feels enslaved by his contract to Warner Bros. 'Don't you think people who need to make a name for themselves and, whatever, have to draw attention to themselves somehow?' Golden cogently psychoanalyzed. He was wearing the word at AAA, but since license photos are front face, the 'Slave' shouldn't be noticeable on the finished product. Arrangements for the Princely license mug are a big production, not unlike advance work for a President Clinton visit. Guys on portable phones were positioned inside and outside, waiting until precisely about one minute before closing before the star emerged from a limo. With the doors to AAA locked and no more customers allowed inside the building, Nelson did his business.
