Title: "Drug Raid At Glam Slam"
Written By:

For the second time in a week police raided and shut down a popular Miami Beach nightclub after an undercover investigation revealed drug-related activities.

Glam Slam, the club owned by the Artist Formerly Known As Prince, was raided at 2:15am on Saturday and shut down. The club's liquor licence was temporarily yanked until it's case can be heard in court.

On Dec. 30th, 'Twist' and 'Groove Jet' [two other popular South Beach nightclubs] also were closed by Miami Beach police and the Florida Division of Alcohol, Beverage and Tobacco, and temporarily lost their licences to sell alcohol.

Police say undercover officers were able to make drug buys from patrons at the clubs, some in open areas in view of bartenders and security workers.

At Glam Slam, Miami Beach fire inspectors also found seven fire code violation. Pyrotechnics were used, and three marked emergency exits were blocked and chained.
