About the regular concerts: The concerts of Prince look more like
election meetings than like a real tour. His beloved public has to support
hum in his dispute against his record company and to bury his old name
definitive. "Prince is dead" he says to the public and they are repeating
it meekly. TAFKAP ofcourse plays a wonnen match, although the show is even
more sober than in London and although he only plays music from the yet to
be released The Gold Experience and the last 2 albums. But who is still
harping about that, cause the performance is fat, steamy and very good.
Critici who already had written him off must admit that he manages it
again.
About the Paradiso concerts in Amsterdam: He indeed stood there nicely, 2
nights in succession, in a Paradiso full of atmosphere. TAFKAP, or just
Prince, let everybody particulair hear, where he -as ultimate renewer-
picked up his inspiration: from the traditional blues and funk. But the
thing realy intresting, was that Paradiso was confronted with the man
behind the symbol.
